trailer surfing

Without design tasks to do for ship, I suddenly find myself slipping into a dangerous desire of surfing online aimlessly. Comixed, facebook, Cracked and Apple trailers are some of my haunts. I saw a bumper crop of new movie trailers this time around though, and I thought I'd share some which I found were more interesting.

1. Restless

It seems like an interesting movie in the trailer, but I'm thinking it would be draggy and slower than I'd like in the cinemas.

2. Battleship

This one's just veiled ship porn, in my opinion. The first thought that came to mind when I saw this was to watch it with my Navy friends, but I'll be a free citizen by then! The name is indeed in reference to the board game, to which the movie apparently does reference heavily. You can see this makes some sense when, all of a sudden, the humans have lost all radar capabilities.

3. Apollo 18

I don't know why, but I hate it when movie synopses state 'actual footage blah blah" when clearly, that can't be the case. Still, this does remind me quite a bit of Transformers. Seems slightly promising, possibly something I'd download and get people over to watch. Nothing more, haha...

4. Winnie The Pooh

I know I've put this here before, but this one's a clip from the movie whose art style I find simply awesome. The rich 2D, the seemingly old school style of cartoon film, the pastel colours and all seem to draw me in, for some reason. I want to watch this movie even though I've never actually seen any series or movie on it.

5. The Pirates! Band of Misfits

Yet another movie with an interesting art style. This one, created by the same people behind Wallace and Gromit and Chicken run, has that interesting play-doh effect. It also can't hurt that the pirate theme made me think of the Navy the moment I saw it. What I really like is seein the play-doh mouth movement. Heh, damn funny.

6. The Devil's Double

The premise of this movie is really interesting, and I think it'd be something perhaps worth watching in cinemas. Reminds me of those slightly more obscure movies that my parents like to watch on Friday nights. Heh, unofficial movie night. It might have been any other cheesy body-double movie plot, but the premise makes it much more intriguing, I believe.

Wanna watch?
