I need new walking shoes.

... I also pity many women who suffer for fashion with the complete lack of cushioning in some of their shoes. Seriously, have you seen how thin those things can be sometimes?

Anyway, I finally walked about town today taking some pictures, something I had been telling myself to do for a few weeks now. Get the Padang like it is now, or wait four more years, I told myself. So after Joel and I watched Inception with my parents, (they had free tickets from DBS, and yes, it was a pretty darn good movie) I headed off.

I must say, the tourists were out in full force, and so were people who were toting DSLRs around. I've been inspired to try more interesting photograph compositions rather than the usual fare, helped by the clear fact that DSLRs are becoming much more mainstream now, with some going for as low as 500, cheaper than some digital compacts out there.

This was taken in the entirely new Marina Bay Financial Center, gleaming with blue glass and with parts still under construction.

Few ventured into the Padang, despite a lack of security. Previously when I had gone there on Thursday, I was told by security that one needed a pass to get in. I still tried anyway, and no one stopped me.

This is the shot that I was looking forward to most of the week, but it turns out my imagination saw it as something more impressive than this. Still, I felt it would make for a more interesting long exposure shot.

Oh hey. It's the 470th post.
