Nice one.

I was at the bank just now to activate my debit card. I ended up invalidating it because I was too hasty in reading instructions printed out for me... Again with my impatience.

But I digress. While I was there, I caught this advertisement running for the YOG, and I think it's something to be truly proud of. It may not have been done by a local creative ad agency, but simply being a host nation with such an engaging and inspirational ad makes me feel proud to be a Singaporean.

It sure makes up for that ridiculous YOG song helmed by J J Lin. I'm not sure if he himself saw the embarrassment in it. The other song, Everyone, (where Sean Kingston fulfills the stereotypical role of background Negro "unh/yeah/hey" effects...) seemed pretty good too.

Speaking of being proud to be a Singaporean earlier... I kind of let us down when I accidentally ignored a group of adult ang moh guys booking into the base. (different camo patterned uniforms!) Three other friends and I were leaving the base last night when they passed us, and one apparently said 'hi' to me as I was walking closest to them. I didn't hear him say that though, so I had come across as completely ignoring him. Score one for showing foreigners we aren't shy and xenophobic folks. Now we all have to do our part and rabidly greet every white bro we meet on the streets.
