I want to ride my bicycle

I had this desire to do some longer distance cycling for some time, and today after lunch I decided to get it over with. I went down to East Coast Park, and boy, was it dead there. Beachgoers were few and far between, with only old men and other JC students being the main people there. And even those were in such small numbers, you more or less had the whole section of the park at any time to yourself. In other words, it was fantastic.
The tranquility of the surroundings, mixed with the familiar insect calls that so remind me of Lagoon View and the whole deserted nature of the park was really something I relished. I met one Pre-U Sem friend there, and she was with this other Indian girl, who so happened to be someone I met at the Bartley Christian Christmas event. They were both best of friends. It really is a small world.
From ECP I cycled the almost to the edge of Singapore, got stopped and turned back, then went down the Death stretch to Changi, through the Boardwalk and past OCH, and then back down the Death Stretch. I stopped at the place Joel told me about the previous time, the rugged looking place whose opening lay somewhere in between the 7.2km stretch. I went deep in, and the place was seriously wonderful. If you watched Twilight, you might remember the scene where Bella suddenly meets this Jamaican vampire in an open field with tall and wild grass. The place was just like that, except that it seemed to stretch on forever, and there was not a single soul to be seen. I ventured deeper, even though I knew if anything were to go wrong, I couldn't even make any calls. I really need to go back there again for some pictures. Quite frankly, the place is nothing like the Singapore I know.
All in, I spent five hours cycling, and even though the sky couldn't decide whether or not to rain, I still got some tan. I'll definitely get burnt in NS if I don't use any sunblock.
