I accidentally broke my mechanical pencil some days ago when I was running up the staircase. It fell through the gap to hit the ground three floors below, and the nib broke. When I went to get the same one today, I remembered it set me back 7 bucks, but I bought it anyway. Then I saw some other ones, and my god they were orange with metal and I drooled at the colour. God, I wanted to get them. They cost 14 and 10 bucks.

In case you haven't bought pencils before, a mechanical one usually costs about 2 bucks. I think I'm still a huge sucker for design. I would have gotten them if only I had the cash on hand, and yet I have no clue why it's so expensive. Good god.

Anyway, I went on to blog a bit before going to bed because, these days with the prospect of work looming at every darn corner and crevice, reflecting on things can be a welcome break. So I've done some reflecting.

1. Still a lot of work to do. That pretty much is ridiculously obvious to most any JC student now. Well, maybe save the really smart ones who got their act together way before the rest of us. I'm going too slowly for any subject and in any chapter and topic.

2. Also, with significant reports on how the BRICs would ideally have a different primary reserve currency, and with all this work, my interest in economics has been rekindled, but there are just too many links to tie up, too much stuff unknown to me and, most significantly, too little time on my hands to understand all of it.

3. Finally, thankfully unrelated to studies, I reckon I've got to grow a pair in a certain aspect of my life.
