The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

I'm blogging this just a minute after I've finished watching The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. I've only watched a handful of japanese movies, most of which are Animes, and again, most of them which are by Studio Ghibli.
Still, I've got to say that this animated movie is seriously beautiful, both to a large extent in graphics and storyline. I've always felt that more effort is put into animated movies with still backgrounds rich in colour, and drawing animated features in the foreground, compared to Dreamworks sort of 3D animation.

But I don't wish to talk about that now. I'm currently basking in a mellow, laid back and blissful state that the movie has induced in me, and I'd hate to spoil that by thinking about a completely different genre of animation. I loved the animation. I liked the plot, though I didn't completely like the ending, which wasn't as blissful as I hoped it would be. Man, if only they got together. If only.

I think when I reread this its going to sound sappy. But that's the kind of mood I'm in right now. Still, while I don't want to spoil the mood, I'd still say The Mist (my previous post on it is in the link) is still the best movie I have ever watched... Followed by Chicago. I don't know where The Girl Who Leapt Through Time ranks in my list, but it's now there, somewhere.
