Joel's blog (ideation)
Wednesday, December 3, 2008

This is my draft of Joel's blog design. He was wondering if I could do one for him, (though the coding, and essentially the materialisation depends on Yichen. The design is useless if there isnt any coding.)
I couldn't work with much, since I don't know Joel's favourite colour, (it's usually an essential question I ask when I do work for others) whether he wants me to stick with the current layout, if he wants any special stuff or not, and how he wants the overall look to be.
Still, I worked with what I had, (his colour scheme was blue-ish) and came up with this. To view it properly, you must open it, and then visualise it somewhat larger. Take the tagboard as a scale.
I realised Joel's blog had much much more than my simple design. I also realised I took for granted how damn long full blog pages must look. He has two pictures, a list of friends, a tagboard, a poem and a poem backlog. On one side. I decided the archives would be on the other. All I have for mine is a friends list and an archive. Makes things simpler. I added the current sidebar from Joel's blog to make it look more genuine.
