First things first. I have to say it. PSPs irritate the heck out of me. What is with the proliferation of PSPs within the youth of Singapore? In my class of 24 persons, I think 6 of them have PSPs. Thats a figure of one in every four persons.
However, it is not their numbers that irks me the most. It is how using it comes across to me as highly antisocial and renders (the user) unwilling to join a conversation. Mark said the other time that my post on the guy installing a PS2 in his car was biased and harsh. I don't think so. Neither do I for this instance.
One man's meat is another man's poison, and if you so wish to harshly defend the ingenious guy who plays for 15 minutes (what the heck, 15 minutes also want to squeeze in play time?) or some guy who zones himself out from a conversation (they can be sitting right in the middle of a bunch of friends and just whip it out, possibly silencing a conversation by causing curious friends to watch him play), then by all means, do so. But this, I stand by.
On another note, I just went for the J1 Bash at the nagging behest of my tennis teammates. (Don't get me wrong though, I'm not some person they can't live without. It's very much the contrary. I'm not keen to mix around with them, and neither am I their ideal company. They are very much the outgoing personalities.) I left early, though, as I needed to get back to blog and get ready for tomorrow.
The bash had a poor turnout, with an estimated 100 persons going. ticket sales were initially slow, and councillors were forced to buy tickets to give them out for free to friends. there wasn't any food, and drinks were already over the budget. Still, I do sympathise every bit with the councillors. Planning it must have been a headache, and getting negative responses from many students must have been really disheartening. The main draw was a PSP up for grabs. Yes. A PSP. Yet another monstrosity.
