Update #3 (I find it better to group similar things under one post, with edits. Less of an isolated post, in my opinion.) I know that this is the last thing I should be doing, but it was tempting to emulate some examples I found online of gallery pages. I have one more poster for tomorrow's career fair in MJC, but it's simple and recycled material...
It's Anime Double-bill! =DPresenting another manga (drawing style seems more like anime though... manga has typically more intricate details not found in anime.) that I did in my free period today. What you see is an altered drawing, but other than reducing one arm's length and adding the background, it is very much the original. Best part is, I didn't need to refer to any existing design to create this! (all I needed was to imagine that ubiquitous manga panel where the pretty girl turns around and says something sweet or cheeky to the boy...)
(now the previous drawing makes the girl look so haunted.) L=
Edit: I just finished this piece. It's my second worthy attempt at manga (the first being my councillor poster, ie the one with the tennis girl) and I am proud t say the autonomy I used in this was much more. this was actually because I didn't want to turn back on my computer to refer back to the source picture. To tell you the truth, the drawing's best feature, in my opinion, is the handbag (From a non-metro kind of view -.-). I do think, though, that she looks too sad, and her clothes don't fit her mood. The only editing I did with the scanned image (A4) was to include the two orange colours and blur her eyes a bit. If you note carefully, I forgot to add the pendant she was supposed to have.
Also, I found the Durex ad an extremely good and creative ad at first, but upon looking at it several times, the percieved potency of the ad slowly faded... I guess they all do.

I liked this advertisement a lot. Saw it while trying to look up keywords on 'logo', then I saw some neat print media ads too. I heard from my dad about this
Youth Olympic Games Logo Design Competition, so I was wondering if I should give it a try. Deadline is very soon though, on the 24th of August.

This is a poster I did for the Career Day talks, I did it hastily and I don't think it suits the theme very well. A mash up of manipulated resources that took me an hour... I originally wanted to draw and scan each career field, for example, aeronautical engineering would show some helicopter or aeroplane (another idea involved the engineer from Team Fortress 2) while healthcare would either be a manipulation of a stethoscope or a nurse with a huge injection needle (for kicks). Interactive Entertainment would have the ubiquitous console fanboy.
The problem: too little time to spare for such a thing. I decided to go for a universal poster, and it isn't a very suitable one at that...
