Us J1's found out about this Global Immersion Trip coming this November, and boy, is it exciting. Successful applicants will stay in the 4 star Hilton Dubai in... Dubai, (I don't think they could find one any lower) The United Arab Emirates. We'll be seeing things like the
Palm Jumeirah and well, things damn exciting. Economics based, as I see it. My memory fails me. Prerequisites are good O level and MYE results as well as not being afraid to speak up, and an inquisitive mind. I sure as hell am going to try for it, and the cost of S$4700 is cut subsidised by the school or govt by $2500 to $2200. They wanted to make it authentic and book Emirates, but it seems only SIA is possible.
Anyway, (there isn't such a word as anyways, by the ways.) if there is anything to be said about tennis today, I would say without a doubt, it was my best training. It started off like the previous one, where me being the odd boy out, was paired up for warm ups with a girl, except I didn't enjoy it, since I had and still have this nagging feeling the coach thinks I'm the worst. The training was 3/4 underway when I was paired up for a doubles team play with these three other guys, just like good old times. My side won the match closely, and then the coach set me up consecutively for another one, this time, I was paired with Jonathan, this guy who is really decent, and probably much better than me in anything save stamina. And my god, my side won it once more!
Obviously, as I write this down, you won't be able to feel or understand my elation (my god, does that sound emo? I really didn't mean to put you through that.) , but I was bloody ecstatic, though only on the inside. This will hopefully and possibly be a break from some very possibly negative mindset that the coach has of me. The signs seem to be pointing to a light at the end of the tunnel, (and no, not from an oncoming train.) and with perhaps some divine intervention, I will be a bit more recognized in the team.
