Man, i think i'm experiencing withdrawl symptoms of not playing tennis. Damn desperate for a game. I'm willing to play a game so long as the time it takes to get there is worth the company... Anyway i recently chanced across this competition, a Laptop sticker design competition for World No Tobacco Day. I think i might stand a chance, so i did up two new designs in under 5 hours today... given i left school today at a phenomenal 12:10.
Edit: This is the third one i did, again from something identifiable, the ubiquitous finger shape when someone smokes. The thing is, the words substitution effect didn't seem to be replicated as nicely as the second one. While it has more depth, associating smoking tobacco with only the negative effects, the fingers look a bit like
Goreng Pisang... which kind of kills the two hours of effort.
The first one is entitled, Vector-StubIt. Tried to put some of my vector art knowledge to good use... My more experienced brother said it drew little link. I really like the colour of the background, though, i did it myself after repeated layering effects of simple colour brushes. Basically, the message is that "Anyone rocks on without tobacco. Stub it out." or something or other. Notice the boy in the picture? he is Roger, from a picture taken during Paintball last year. Wanted to use Yichen from another poster, but his picture gave a wrong impression...
The next one is entitled, No Smokin'. It also has the Stub It Out slogan, but you can see the derived image. I have no idea though, why there is a Tobacco related day. I guess the drug itself is so much more proliferated in society that it earns a right to be on a 'day' of it's own. Comments?
