Compliments can really help to brighten one's day. Obviously, it would really help if you actually deserved them rather than someone pays lip service to something you don’t really inherit. But what’s even better than compliments is an indirect compliment. People can come up to you and say you’re great at so-and-so, but isn’t it much sweeter when you can see the signs that someone actually appreciates your talents or inherent attributes, but doesn’t tell you directly? The game of guessing increases the fun, doesn’t it?

I had three free periods today, and I had my PE clothes with me as I had tennis later in the day. The free periods were generous, but nothing beats yesterday’s five-period break, which translates to 4 hours and 10 minutes. I spent some of it satisfyingly mugging.

I originally wasn’t going to do any physical activity, since my classmates wanted to play basketball, which is one of my least favourite sport. However, they soon decided to play squash, and that was when I really enjoyed myself. I treated squash like tennis, except I was very surprised the ball has pathetic bounce. I must say, I loved every minute of the game. No kidding, whacking balls is fun, tennis or squash.
