Hi. I was originally intending to write successive posts on the holiday to Sydney. However, I found it long and possible tedious for readers to… um… read. So I have decided that since Joel is going to blog it down, it suits me fine. If you actually want to know what we did, go to his blog. All the more too, since I see that even Joel doesn’t have time to get it up, it would be more so troublesome for me.
Going on, I have to say that coming back home has brought a flurry of emotions to me. No kidding. I’ll show you.
Firstly, after I came home that day and got settled by around 4:30p.m., (the flight got delayed by about an hour) I knew that I had to get down to work. In fact, I still do, it’s just that I’m a bit lazy right now. By nightfall I thought I was dead, the work wasn’t so much, it was more of the dreading of doing Math as well as the limited time. Thankfully, I more or less did it in time. Monday wasn’t too bad, but for P.E. we did all sorts of ridiculous things with medicine balls (such as do push-ups and sit-ups with it, hop around and twirl with it).=D We watched another east meets west movie again, called “Pushing Hands”. I also had an interesting conversation with Ernest, the CLB guy.
Ernest: Eh hi Joseph!
Me: Hi!
Ernest: Eh I was thinking of ponning CLB today…
Me: Up to you dude. Why?
Ernest: Well, I have to go off for a flight later today…
Me: How come you didn’t take advantage of the holidays and the break to go off?
Ernest: Well, it’s only for one day.
Me: One day? Where are you going?
Ernest: Err… Somewhere that doesn’t require my passport…
Me: Umm…
It turns out he went to fly a plane that day. Yeah. I didn’t mention he was in YFC otherwise it would have been obvious.
Today, I took time off recess to go online instead, to catch up on my friends’ lives, via their blogs. I had 50 minutes, but still, it wasn’t enough. Well, I hereby applaud Mark for putting such a brilliant video on his blog. Although it wasn’t his work, so I don’t know why I’m applauding it also. I would like to state to Ben that I agree that we won’t look or carry ourselves the very same way we used to, and even less so as the years go by. Which is really something to mull over.=/
I didn’t have time to read Xavier’s blog, but then again, he might not have updated. Lastly, I do wish to mention that I did visit Eileen’s blog, and I do make it a point to read all the posts of my friend’s blogs, until the one I remember reading before. So I must confess, I felt pretty lost, when I got to that post where she said she found someone else in life. I know what some might say. I could have tried if I put my heart to it, but I didn’t. And it is so ironic I feel it only now. But I guess everyone has their own lives to plough onwards and forward, and there is only so much time that one can wait. So, I guess I sincerely hope Eileen has a nice time with the guy she has now. =/
On another note, I have to start gearing up for the 19th. Quite a few of my classmates are moving off too, many to the usual suspects, TJC and VJC. But that doesn’t mean I won’t miss them. Karen, one of my classmates, Darren, my tennis mate, Jolene, another classmate, some VS boys (you have to despise their affiliation. =P) also put VJC as their first choice, and can probably make it. Sigh.
I received something from my Angel today, a postcard (Scary Movie 4 with the blow-up doll) with words, which were obviously written by a girl. She, like the aims of the game, wanted to get to know me, so one of the questions in it was, “…and also, tell me if you have a crush on any girl right now.” Talk about epic gossiping behaviors lol… I definitely need to give something to my Mortal. Otherwise karmic retribution might make its appearance. I don’t know what to do though… Man, I should have gotten something from Australia.
Talking about that, I bought two models from down under, the Nissan 350z (Nismo series) and the U.S. Marine M60 medium tank. Both can’t be found in Singapore, or at least I haven’t seen it. I can’t wait to spray paint the 350z. My first car model. They set me back by s$183, after currency conversion. My dad told me I could take it out of my reward for my O levels, the 1k that was deposited.
And oh, yes. Before I forget, I want to mention Sonya, the niece of my mom’s ex-colleague who is now in Australia, working as a vet. (She mentioned she has seen many animals, but when it comes to fish, she just tells the customer to get a new one. Zhengwen, don’t hate her. =D) My god, do kids age quickly. She is an Indonesian who is currently studying in a boarding school at grade 7, which is the equivalent of our JC1. I finally figured the American version of education levels. So yes. She is 16 too. But gosh, If you ever see her, you’d never guess she was 16. She looks like a cross between my cousin Amanda, in Poly, and Eileen’s da jie, also in Poly. She looks so much older!
But that is besides the point. You would never guess, but she loves Paintball. She loves Laser Tag and go-karting, and it simply boggled me since they totally gel with mine as well as the Third Degree’s interests. In fact, she invited Joel and I to Indonesia to go play some paintball, which I would love to do given the chance. How often do you come across such a girl with unusual interests?
Well, I don’t know if you’re bored, but one thing is for sure, this post is long. I’ll wrap it up soon, don’t worry.
I found out yesterday that the invitations for Overseas Attachment Programmes are already underway. Recruitment is in for science-inclined students who have done well in the O levels and wish to go overseas during the July-August period to places such as America, Canada, UK, China, Indonesia and Korea. They never mentioned the South or North, so maybe the North is recruiting for young scientists for their nuclear programme. With my score, I can make it, but life sucks, since not only do you need a strong inclination to science, as all of them are science trips, you also have to have taken A Math and done two pure sciences. On both accounts, I miss the target. Mr. Phoa says I can still make it, but I don’t see how. The invitation had columns to fill up the various subject scores. What am I going to put, NIL? I asked him, but he is notorious for being busy and not responding.
Better end here. Already overshot two pages.
