The Airshow was a disappointment. The queues were snaking and confusing, the ticketing checks failed, and the journey there was long and drawn. We nearly missed the aerobatics, but then again, they didn’t awe me as much as I’d hoped. The static displays were nice, but if only the queues to see the interiors weren’t so snaking. A small report in the papers today did mention these gripes, and promised to amend then for today’s show. Man, the venue was packed.
But then again, chances are if you are reading this, you would have been to it, and for those of you who haven’t, there wasn’t so much to elaborate upon anyway. All I can say is, the Army Open House was at least ten times better. Free, less crowded, more participation opportunities and simply more mind-blowing. I would much prefer to hear and feel the awesome reverberations of a 75mm cannon than see an F-16 do stunts hundreds of meters away. I must say though, that the best part of the day was seeing the Palm-fan stunt, which was the ending act of the Black Knights. It was superb.
I have no pictures to show, since for some reason my CF card slot reader isn’t working, and I used to wide-lens DSLR for that day, which only accepts CF or XD cards. I need to wait for my brother to help me transfer the images.
We skipped lunch and had an early dinner, so by night I was feeling hungry before bed, and stuffed down two pieces of bread for my acids to have something to do.
I found out yesterday that three of the original 21 in 08S403 have gone to the same OG, in other words, we will be seeing each other again for two years. I hope there are some more of us. Orientation starts tomorrow and ends on Wednesday, then the temporary timetable kicks in. All that I look for now is the Tennis tryouts. I hope I can get back in. All of us J1’s chose other JC’s, yet we all come back to MJC once more. Fate has it’s way, I guess.

Man, I can’t believe I’m going to move house to such a beautiful new place in like, what, four or five months? And it still doesn’t thrill me altogether.
Better go and bathe now and do the math that I have been putting off.
