Today the breaks are less retarded, this break spans 1hr 40 mins while i will have another later for 50 mins. Maybe i'll catch up on some reading. Everyday when i take the Airport route home, i read a book. I have been told before that reading on a moving vehilce somehow over time impairs eyesight, but really, what do you want me to do? Music cannot sustain me for an hour.

So nowadays when something springs to mind for some blog fodder, i quickly take it down. I don't know if that old post is still there, but i once said there is no point to noting something down for something as trival as blogging, if you couldn't remember it from the outset means it wasn't so important to begin with. But then i argue (to myself heheh) that a blog is meant, like a diary, to record my emotions and whatnot, so if i were to actually try and make this blog rflect a comprehensive image of me, i ought to do my best in jotting down emotions the minute i realize them.

Here is the first on my list; yesterday i thought of accompanying a friend to guitar club tryouts. I was grossly mistaken when upon reaching the room and picking up a guitar, i realized i had forgotten every single chord i learnt. I tried to mix and match, but i had obviously lost my memory to years of neglect. So this other guy who can't pronounce "s" apparently (like say, the sentence "i heard Samantha was seeking some solutions to insane questions" would sound "i heard amantha wa eeking ome olution to inane quetion") then asked for the guitar from this n00b (me lah). He then started to play a song. And i listened. And what the F***! in the first few seconds i was listening, i said to myself... hey... isn't this... and then he started singing the lyrics.

This is a Triumph.
I'm making a note here,
Huge success.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

And i was like OMG! people know the game and start plucking the song! I tell you, for me there is little joy that is more than what i derive when others start playing a song i know, on any instrument. It could be Canon In D, or Jay Chou's Qing Tian, or Portal's Still Alive, whatever it is i love to listen to it. Don't ask me why, i just like it that a person can play by him or herself a song that i know.

So i listened with joy, except for his singing. His singing sucks but i like his plucking and strumming. I ought to have sung and he strummed ;-). People around me kept playing Romance Di Amor as if that was a standard test gauge of skills, and i must say, even the first segment of the song, i have completely forgotten.

On another note, i got home that day to play tennis with the coach for preparation for tennis tryouts today. My playing was mediocre. But that isn't the message. Yet again, my coach was talking to me after the lesson, and about wierd topics.

Him: Remember, don't join tennis just because of the girls. If other people tell you that, they are dumb.
Me: Orh.
Him:I mean its true lah, there are many girls who like to join tennis.
ME: Really? Why?
Him: Well tennis is a rigourous outdoor sports activity. Thats what they go for. See things like Soccer? Rugby? They all cater to males only. So girls have a smaller selection, and Tennis is one of them.
Me: but there are still others what, like badminton... Volleyball...
Him: the thing about badminton is that there is not much rigour in the game. The shuttlecock is much slower and they don't feel the rush of adrenaline.
Me: ok...
Him: furthermore, its outdoor sports that count. The girls at this age all want a tan (ed.: wonder why people go for whitening masks...) and they can't do that with badminton, which is a mainly indoor sport. So they go for tennis. take for example the JC girls i am coaching now. Many of them... More or less go Half-naked for lessons!
Me: Oh?
Him: they try to like wear the skimpiest attire so they get a good tan. Thats what they all try to achieve. Really!

Yeah there's more conversation but i think its too long to put here. Got other things to tell. Its not intersting anyway right...

Anyway, Yesterday's and today's (just finished it) lesson was really nice for me. It did not require a base in A Maths for Partial Fractions, except if you count that wierd arrow...

=> (its not a smiley face...)

... and i'm glad that i was able to follow the lesson and understand the topics covered. For any math-competent person, it wouldn't nmean much, but as a lowest scroing subject for Prelims, ( B3! Heheh... once in a while... actually i also was amazed i got that) i am proud of myself. The next topic is Binominal Theorem, but i know that that topic is grounded in A Maths. Must brace myself...

Oh by the way, before i go, i wouldn like to add that a few months back, Yichen recommended reading WeiYing's blog since she apparently writes in legible English, unlike many other Singaporean girls. I recently was reminded of this fact, and in blatant copyright infringements, will attempt to copy her style which seems nice and neat. Teh Question Post. Coming up next on 5.56.
