Well, back to the old days of writing my posts on Word beforehand. Sometimes I prefer it, actually. Well, on to my first topic then. (notice I sound very objective…)
I made my choices of JC’s already, like many others born in the year of the goat. I had initially paced MJC as first choice, but my dad really persuaded the crap out of me to get to VJC. So I made one amendment and made VJC my first choice. And then after my selection, I realized two things.
1) I won’t be able to take H2 Math in VJC, unless I appeal for an interview and show I can take the subject.
2) I will very likely not make it to the Tennis team, since VJC has one of the best Tennis teams around.
I told the latter to my dad just now, and he told me, that after all that he said, the choice was really up to me. This is complete irony. For you see, he previously made such a compelling hard sell argument, he was quite so adamant on getting me to do VJC as first choice… and his argument is from which I excerpt this paragraph.
“You know, I think after all, you don’t deserve the 6 points. Look at it this way. There are so many other students who would die to have these marks. If they got it, they wouldn’t hesitate to put VJC on the top of their list. I mean, you didn’t even get into Damai and I was the one who helped appeal you there. Now you can get into the institution and you’re worried you wouldn’t do very well under pressure. Maybe you didn’t deserve it after all.”
The words are not entirely exact, but I assure you the tone and purpose of the argument was there. And then he tells me its up to me. Like what the hell right.-.-
On another point, I read the Sunday Times on… Sunday-.-, and I read this column by Sumiko Tan, the single (and lonely) columnist who is already in her forties. the article spoke about how her topics for the column were fast running out, since her supposedly boring single life doesn’t give her many opportunities to tell stories.
Sounds familiar? Ever had that feeling during the wasted days of the December break, where little happened that no one had any blog fodder, and how, now in JC, people (hem hem) pass remarks that all the JC fodder is boring? The fact is, more often than not, when you actually have a reliable constant event in your life, like going to JC, you have much more to share than if you were free all day. A job in the frontlines of the service industry will definitely give you more than a lion’s share of stories encountered.
With that, you know I’ve got more to share with you. Joel and Cheryl crashed MJC today, along with Gaurav and Arjunan (both their names give me the zigzag red line… heheh.). sad to say, they didn’t seem very convinced to stay, yet they put MJC as first choice. For abovementioned reasons, I think there is a possibility I might be transferring back to MJC should I get into VJC… What do you think?
Along the same lines, Yichen has indirectly informed me that he has put his first and consecutive choices for a polytechnic. Truth be told here, I am a bit saddened by that, since poly’s and JC’s have vastly different vacation times, and it might be difficult if we want to plan anything comprehensive in the future. =/
Got to do my Math and Tuition homework and I’m running out of precious time.
